Hiroyuki Horihata / Makiko Sekiguchi

Both Horihata and Sekiguchi studied apparel design at Bunka Fashion College, where Horihata joined after finishing Doshisha Graduate School and Sekiguchi, Kyorin University. After graduating from the college in 1998, they worked for different designer brands respectively for 5 years as pattern-makers. They moved to London in 2003 and worked for Bora Aksu. After returning to Japan, they established LEWSTEN to launch matohu in March 2005. From March 2006, they have been presenting their collections at the Tokyo Collection Week (JFW in TOKYO).
