Utilizing the assistant project by the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan Fashion Week Organization is promoting “tokyoeye 2016 Project” to support up-and-coming small and medium fashion brands which aim to expand overseas. A total of 12 women’s brands, largely those that participated in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo, have been selected to join Tranoï Femme to be held in Paris in October 2015.

Prior to the decision, all brands participating in the project designed and improved their 2016SS fashions to be exhibited in Paris under advice on product development by Ms. Cindy HO, a consultant invited from France, and Mr. Armand HADIDA, founder of select shop “L’Eclaireur” and Artistic Director of Tranoï.

Designers who received their guidance made comments such as “Their specific advice on size and price adjustment to enter the overseas market was informative,” and “Mr. Hadida made severe comments but it was a precious opportunity to become aware of difficulties in the international market.”

Tranoï Femme is the most important fashion trade show in Paris. This year, it will be held from October 2 to 5 with Carrousel Du Louvre as the more central venue, where the tokyoeye 2016 Project will run booths.

tokyoeye 2016 –Key Visual

Key visual by artist, Asae SOYA

To strongly present the image of the tokyoeye 2016 Project, “sora-A-glow,” the work of budding artist, Asae SOYA, who is active at home and abroad, has been adopted as the key visual. Catching people’s attention with light and colors, her work links the trend of the 2016SS season that strongly expresses the influence of digitalization and technology over feminineness. Thus it impressively conveys the various attractive elements of the brands participating in the tokyoeye 2016 Project.
