Brand information / About the designer

―What inspired you to become a fashion designer? Describe developments leading up to the brand launch.

I never had aspirations to become a fashion designer. I just knew I wanted to created things and eventually decided on clothing as that outlet. Even now I don’t see myself as a “fashion designer,” but “clothing designer.” I had spent 3 years developing the design for a backpack and to see the final sample completed was the moment I decided to launch my own brand.

―What is the brand’s concept? What do you want to communicate through fashion designing?

Clothing as a tool of daily wear. Fashion has unfortunately evolved into a business revolving around trends and as a result, has become viewed as something frivolous.

―What is your source of inspiration in creating fashion? What is your process of developing a design concept?

From everyday life and nature.

―Who are your current stockists (areas, retail formats, etc.)? Describe the typical followers of your brand.

Sockists can be found both domestically and abroad. Not limited to only fashion, we see fans from a variety of creative and design fields.

―Which brands, designers, styles and cultures have had the most impact on your fashion designing, and why?

In terms of design, I am a fan of the Bauhaus Movement. In particular, the works of Dieter Rams and Max Bill.

About 2021 S/S collection

―Why have you chosen Tokyo (Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO) as the venue for presenting your collection?

I will participate as a winner of Tokyo Fashion Award in hopes of spreading the meanswhile philosophy and brand name.

―What is the concept / image for your brand’s 2021 S/S season?

To be announced.

―What is your vision for your show / installation?

To be determined.

Future

―What are your brand’s future outlook and goal?

Overseas expansion as well as collaborative work with industries outside of fashion.

About TOKYO

―What does Tokyo represent for you?

A place where anything is possible.

―Which parts / sites of Tokyo do you like most? Why?

Sangenjaya because it is filled with many small bars.

―What are your favorite / recommended shops (of any genres, e.g. fashion stores, homeware stores, food services), facilities and sites?

A restaurant called “Bueno” in Sangenjaya.

Regarding the COVID-19 Corona virus

If any, please tell us any changes you’ve made to the brand and/or designs due to the spread of COVID-19.
There have been many changes affecting our mental state, and as a result, our concerns have also increased.
During this time, I have often wondered what the meaning of clothes and fashion is when I realized these were all similar questions I asked myself when first staring this brand.
It’s not all negative.
It’s an opportunity that brings about renewed desire to face new challenges so I try my best to enjoy the moment.
