Brand information / About the designer

―What inspired you to become a fashion designer? Describe developments leading up to the brand launch.

Over the course of wearing various clothing, I could no longer be happy with existing clothing. This is why I decided to aim to become a designer.

―What is the brand’s concept? What do you want to communicate through fashion designing?

I hope to make clothing that can be worn for a long time, not dependent on a gender like men’s and women’s clothing.

―What is your source of inspiration in creating fashion? What is your process of developing a design concept?

Everything felt by my five senses during day-to-day life becomes an inspiration. There are many times when inspirations one by one connect when moving my body during sports.

―Who are your current stockists (areas, retail formats, etc.)? Describe the typical followers of your brand.

The brand is supported from a very broad range of ages, and is available at XANADU in Tokyo and DRESDEN in Fukuoka. One thing that can be said in common about customers is that there are many who are highly sensitive to fashion and are favorable to wearing black.

―Which brands, designers, styles and cultures have had the most impact on your fashion designing, and why?

I was greatly affected by the genderless world views of the underlying blacks presented by HEIDI SLIMANE’s Dior Homme. Aside from that, I was greatly affected by the world views and attitudes of creations by COMME des GARÇONS and green.

About 2015 S/S collection

―Why have you chosen Tokyo (or MBFWT) as the venue for presenting your collection?

I wanted people in Japan and around the world to see and wear the clothing.

―What is the concept / image for your brand’s 2015 S/S season?

As this will be my first MBFWT, I hope to give off a great feeling of Noir Fr. Although I’m not particularly good at expressing myself with words, if I had to give a few words I would say a “minimum near future.”

Future

―What are your brand’s future outlook and goal?

The expansion of sales channels both within Japan and overseas. I would also like to actively hold exhibitions overseas.

About TOKYO

―What does Tokyo represent for you?

Living in Fukuoka, my chances to go to Tokyo are quite limited. Each time I go, however, I receive many different inspirations thanks to the busy city.

―Which parts / sites of Tokyo do you like most? Why?

Aoyama. I really enjoy the atmosphere for some reason.
