Toward a Fashion Week Unique to Tokyo \u2013 Japan Fashion Week Celebrates 20 Years<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFWO), originally launched as  the Fashion Strategy Forum in 2005, celebrates its 20th anniversary with the 2026 Spring\/Summer season. On this milestone occasion, JFWO reflects on the distinctive history of a fashion week that could only have been possible in Tokyo and renews its commitment to creating an even more compelling fashion week that builds on the rich legacy shaped by generations of talented designers.
Over the past two decades, the world has undergone dramatic events and change, from earthquakes and the COVID-19 pandemic to the rapid rise of social media. Through it all, fashion has continued to evolve, giving rise to new forms of creative expression. Yet even amid such constant change, we believe that the value of a live fashion show, where people gather, connect, and share real energy, remains as vital and irreplaceable as ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
