\u201cby R\u201d Project for 2026 S\/S Wednesday, September 3rd 19:00\uff5e<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

by R is Rakuten’s project to elevate Japan’s fashion scene and share its appeal\u00a0globally. During Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO, Tokyo’s premier fashion week, which stands alongside those in Paris, Milan, London, and New York, by R supports\u00a0runway shows for exceptionally talented brands each season. Through dedicated brand shops on Rakuten Fashion, the project spotlights brand excellence and\u00a0creates new connections between customers and fashion through exclusive items.
Since 2020, by R has championed fashion shows for approximately 16 brands from\u00a0Japan and abroad, enhancing Tokyo’s fashion community. Harnessing the strengths of the Rakuten Group, the project remains committed to delivering new inspiration\u00a0and discoveries to the world of fashion.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of legendary Japanese modiste (hat designer) Akio Hirata, Haute Mode Hirata will hold a fashion show where hats take center stage. Three brands will participate: Akio Hirata OHKO, led by Ohko Hirata\u2014Akio Hirata\u2019s eldest daughter and longtime apprentice; H.at, with Akio\u2019s granddaughter Saki Hirata as chief designer; and saki et show, a brand co-led by Saki and her younger brother Sho Hirata. Grounded in a legacy spanning three generations, the show reexamines the meaning and relevance of hats in today\u2019s fashion culture. As a presentation of the continuity and evolution of both technique and artistic sensibility, the event is positioned as a cultural challenge that honors Japan\u2019s hat-making heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
