Matsumoto established ato
in 1993 and held his first exhibition in 1994. By 1999 he was wholesaling to 12specialty
stores, mostly in Europe and the U.S. In 2000, ato held its first collection in
Paris and in 2003 launched a womenswear line at the Tokyo Collections.
