■Objective : This exhibition invites you into the world of textile artisans and their creations. It displays a model of what happens when celebrated textile designers work in tandem with the world-beating technology of Japan's leading fabric manufacturers.

          designers:
Reiko Sudo, Akira Minagawa and Makiko Minagawa collaborate with a host of top-flight textile manufacturers - be sure to see the spectacular results.
   
■Participating Designers
□ Reiko Sudo
須藤玲子 A graduate of Musashino Art University, in 1984, Reiko Sudo, with the help of several collaborators, founded Nuno, a textile maker located in the Axi Center for Design in Tokyo's Roppongi. As Design Director of Nuno, Sudo has won fans outside Japan and her work has been exhibited at New YorkOs Museum of Modern Art, the New York Metropolitan Museum and the Tokyo Museum of Modern Art, as well as galleries all over the world. She has been a lecturer at Musashino Art University since 1988 at Tokyo Zokei University since 2002.
   
□ Akira Minagawa
皆川 明 Born in Tokyo in 1967, Akira Minagawa is a graduate of Bunka Fashion College. In 1995, he started the brand Mina which changed its name to Mina Perhonen in 2003. He opened a store in Tokyo's up-market Shiroganedai district in 2000 and an exhibition of his titled "Particles" held in the Spiral Garden exhibition center in 2002 was widely acclaimed. Minagawa has built strong relationships with textile manufacturers, and works closely with them in developing a variety of innovative fabrics with exquisite workmanship and a timeless appeal.
   
□ Makiko Minagawa
皆川 魔鬼子 Born in Kyoto. Graduated from Kyoto City University of Fine Arts, majoring in textile design and dyeing. 1971 Joined Miyake Design Studio. Appointed the textile director of ISSEY MIYAKE by presenting unique works through the research and development. 1990 Awarded the 1st AMIKO KUJIRAOKA award of the 8th Mainichi Fashion Prize. 1996 Awarded Mainichi Design Prize. 2000 Launches HaaT from ISSEY MIYAKE INC. as a total director and textile designer. Since 2002, invited as a guest professor at Tama Art University, with a major in Fabric Dyeing.
