After graduating from Nagoya
Mode Academy,Maki worked as a freelance designer before setting up Garde Collective
in 1993. The brand joined the Tokyo Col lections in the Spring/Summer 2000 Season.
In 2004, the Dw2R line was launched in collaboration with Senso Unico. Maki participated
in the Creation Business Forum in 2005.
