| The brand Suzunoya was established
in 1947, with the eponymous company founded three years later with designer Kiyoko
Koizumi at the helm. From 1959, the brand started produ cing kimono with a different
theme each year and marked its 46th anniversary in 2004. Koizumi was responsible
for the wardrobe research for O`Oikawa,O´ NHKOs long-running period drama slot,
in 1984 with O`Sanga Moyu?and has been handling costumes for the past 22 years,
including last yearOs hit O`Shinsengumi.O´ In 1985, Koizumi founded the Seyko
Kimono Culture Foundation with kimono maker Seyko. In 1987, she participated in
the Tokyo International Collections fashion event, showing a kimono collection
with Nina Ricci. |
