After graduating from Nagoya
Mode College in 1980, Nagasawa worked as a designer for TOKIO KUMAGAI in Parisbefore
returning to Japan to establish STIL in 1991. His eponymous label was launched
the following year and has been a regular fixture at the Paris collections since
1997. He launched NO CONCEPT BUT GOOD SENSE in 1993 and subsequently undertook
several collaboration projects with sneaker brand O`NEWBALANCE?, O`double wrapOL
and ?tabi.OL He was awarded the Mainichi Newcomer Award in 1992 and the Grand
Prix in 2004. In April 2005 he was appointed director of the postgraduate fashion
design course at Kanezawa University of Fine and Industrial Arts.
