MIZEN is a project that places Japanese artisans and their craft at the center, exploring the richness that emerges only when we slow down.
In today’s world, where instant visual impact is excessively demanded, many forms of craftsmanship that require time and contemplation rarely reach the stage where they can be properly appreciated.
This is precisely why we advocate “Slow Fashion, Slow Luxury,” proposing the unseen stories that unfold within the subtle “spaces” behind each object as a new form of value.

After graduating from Kyoto University (Architecture), they joined YOHJI YAMAMOTO, gaining experience before moving to Milan to work as Chief Pattern Maker for CAROL CHRISTIAN POELL and 3D Designer for AGNONA. They later moved to Paris to work as a 3D Designer for women's ready-to-wear at HERMÈS.
Returning to Japan in 2018, they established STUDIO ALATA and the ARLNATA line to promote traditional industry values using kimono textiles. In April 2022, they co-founded MIZEN Co., Ltd. with the Furusato Choice founder and Trust Bank, aiming to establish Japanese luxury where artisans and their techniques are the focus. They opened the flagship store in Minami-Aoyama that December. They won the 2023 FORBES JAPAN “CULTURE-PRENEURS 30” award and will become a part-time lecturer at Kyoritsu Women’s University from April 2025. The Aoyama store will close in April 2025, and an atelier and appointment-only store will open in Shibuya in January 2026.
