CHARINYEH is a Taiwan-based designer brand founded in 1985 by creative director Cha-Rin Yeh.

Rooted in Eastern aesthetics, cultural memory, and structural tailoring, the brand explores the relationship between clothing, body, and space through contemporary fashion.

Raised in rural Taiwan, Yeh developed her design philosophy from local culture, natural landscapes, and traditional tailoring practices. Since founding the brand, she has continued to approach pattern-making as a form of structural thinking, creating garments that emphasize proportion, layering, and quiet presence.

Rather than pursuing immediate visual impact, CHARINYEH focuses on clothing that gradually reveals its depth through wear and time.

Cha-Rin Yeh is the founder and creative director of CHARINYEH. Through more than four decades of design practice, she has developed a distinctive design language rooted in memory, landscape, and the relationship between body and space.

Raised in a rural town near Taiwan’s Zhuoshui River, Yeh’s aesthetic sensibility was shaped by nature, local culture, and everyday rituals. In her youth, she learned tailoring techniques from local dressmakers, and created her first garment from hand-dyed fertilizer sacks — an experience that became the starting point for transforming ordinary materials into a refined design vocabulary.

Since founding CHARINYEH in 1985, Yeh has continued to approach pattern-making as a form of thinking. Through repeated cutting, draping, and reconstruction, she explores the structural relationship between fabric, body, and movement.
