mintdesigns
〈A design that can be enjoyed by people aged 3 to 100〉
mintdesigns regards fashion as a kind of product design, and has been engaged in a wide range of activities with the aim of "designing to enrich everyday life." Taking advantage of the uniqueness of the textiles we develop, we are actively collaborating with other industries, such as tableware, furniture, and Japanese confectionery, in addition to clothing, to expand the scope of our design. The concept of this brand is to propose the possibility of "fashion" that is not synonymous with "trend".

2025AW COLLECTION
「POSITIVE SHAPE AND NEGATIVE SHAPE 」
Designing Fashion with a Focus on Positive and Negative Shapes
This season, we designed fashion with an emphasis on the interplay between the subject (Positive Shape) and the surrounding space (Negative Shape), consciously utilizing empty space. By highlighting the gaps and unfilled areas around and between the main elements, we created designs that embrace the aesthetic of negative space.
For example, a blouse where elements like the collar and pockets are designed using negative shapes. Tops and jackets feature cut-out details on the sleeves, back yoke, and waist, allowing the silhouette to transform with belts or ribbons. Pants are constructed with layered structures that appear as if peeling away, enhancing the sense of negative shape.
To emphasize the form, silhouette, and graphic elements, we propose a sophisticated monochrome color palette. The textiles predominantly consist of natural materials, incorporating unique processing techniques and unexpected material combinations to create a sense of depth, texture, and warmth despite their lightness. While prioritizing beautiful silhouettes and comfort, we infused our designs with a playful spirit, expressing Mint Designs' unique take on the theme of "Positive Shape and Negative Shape."
For the collection’s visual presentation, we selected architect Junya Ishigami’s "KAIT Plaza" as the stage, a space that perfectly embodies this season's concept. This architectural marvel features square openings cut into the ceiling, appearing to float. On sunny days, sunlight filters through; on rainy days, water streams down like a shower, creating a constantly shifting interplay of light and shadow depending on the weather and time of day.
Within this vast, column-free, sloping space, a single model walks the runway, embodying the relationship between space as emptiness and the presence of clothing.
