Since 2003 Spring/Summer, Kuwahara restarted his brand changing the namefrom “I.S. Sunao Kuwahara” to “sunaokuwahara”, identifying it as a brand that expresses a new value as it attains depth, and highly purified originality.His creation expresses the transition of time by using fabrics, colors,and shapes.

Graduating from Vantan Design Institute in 1979, Kuwahara entered MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO in 1989, becomes the chief designer of the brand “I..S.” in 1994. He changed the name of the brand to “I.S. Sunao Kuwahara”. and moved to A-net Inc. in 1996. He restarted his brand changing the name again to “sunaokuwahara” since 2003 S/S, identifying it as a brand that expresses a new value as it attains depth, and a highly purified originality.
