C JEAN is a designer brand based in Taiwan. Through clothing, the brand gives form to the time held within materials.

Working across diverse materials, craft traditions, and interdisciplinary collaborations, the brand uses research and experimentation to explore how techniques, gestures, and cultural memory leave traces in materials. Its dialogues with Taiwanese lacquer art and Kyoto rōketsu-zome (wax-resist dyeing) form part of this broader practice, through which these explorations are reconfigured into the structure, silhouette, and texture of contemporary dress.

Here, craft is not treated as a borrowed motif or decorative reference, but as a vessel of time, knowledge, and human practice. Clothing brings these accumulated histories into a present relationship with the body.

Alongside its independent collections and cultural projects, C JEAN has undertaken commissioned design projects and cross-sector collaborations with partners across the automotive, hospitality, and real-estate development sectors, including Audi Taiwan and Le Méridien Taipei. Through these collaborations, the brand extends its design language beyond clothing into uniforms, corporate identity, and spatial contexts.

In March 2026, C JEAN presented the opening show at Taipei Fashion Week. C JEAN’s work is also featured in Shogakukan’s 『台湾クラフトへの旅』 (A Journey into Taiwanese Craft).

Chun-Yuan Jean holds an MA in Fashion Design and Technology from London College of Fashion (University of the Arts London／UAL) and completed internships at Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan.

She received the Bronze Prize in the Textile & Fiber Art category at the Florence Biennale in both 2019 and 2023. She has also designed and produced attire that the Vice President of Taiwan wore at inauguration-related events and an official dinner.

Her practice spans fashion collections, exhibitions, live presentations, and cultural projects. Across these forms, clothing is not merely something worn, but part of a narrative in which clothing, space, and the body come together as a single work.
