Wataru Nakazono
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Joined the Tokyo Collection brand after graduating from Tokyo Mode Gakuen.
In 2014, leveraged his experience to start "CHONO", a women's brand specializing in textiles.
Won the 2018 Tokyo New Designer Fashion Grand Prix.
CHONO, established as a textile brand, Taking over its identity, launched as the more fine-quality and sophisticated womenswear brand FURUMAU beginning with its fall/winter 2025 collection.

"Furumau" has various meanings, such as ""to act in a certain situation to give a certain impression to onlookers," or "to offer hospitality or provide a feast".
The act of "furumau" provides an opportunity to learn about the essence of human beings.
For us, as creators, it means to provide the best hospitality while considering the spirit of the people who wear our clothes in mind — for them, we would like our clothes to refine their essence and allow them to be a better version of themselves.
Our brand name is derived from the word ""furumau,"" which expresses these sentiments, and is also the theme of our first season.
