DHL Japan announces winner for the 13th DHL Designer Award at Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO
Award was presented to Ena Kizawa and Taketo Nishino, founders of the brand, 5-knot
Tokyo, 19 October 2017: DHL Japan today announced the winners of the DHL Designer Award for this season. The award was presented to Ena Kizawa and Taketo Nishino, the founders of 5-knot brand, in recognition of their creative designs and the designs’ potential to go global. The winners were selected by DHL, the Official Logistics Partner for the Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO (AmazonFWT) and Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFW Organization), among promising fashion designers who showcased their collections at the Fashion Week held from 16 to 22 October 2017.
The winner brand, 5-knot was started in 2013 with their “Journey and Vintage” collection inspired by various landscapes and scenery, towns, culture and vintage items.
Nishino’s comment
“We currently have business abroad in China (Shanghai, Guangzhou and Ningbo), Honolulu and Canada, and business is going especially well in Shanghai. Winning this award will help us expand further in Korea, Taiwan and South East Asia as well as America, Canada and Europe.”
DHL Designer Award
Started in 2011, the DHL Design Award plays an instrumental role to showcase Japan’s design talents to the world. Over the years, the award has successfully helped many designers expand their footprints in global markets. DHL will provide the winners with international shipping credits valued at 500,000 yen (JPY), to ship collection pieces, samples, design material, and other goods internationally.
