Born in Tokyo. After graduating from Waseda University, Mikage initially joined a Japanese company. After leaving the company, she entered the Parsons School of Art and Design in New York, then launched her own label MIKAGE SHIN, the genderless brand, in New York. Her work gained recognition and invitations like NYFW and VFW since she was studying in Parsons. Her brand design and concept such as renowned for philosophical themes, intricate patterns, solid graphic design, and Japanese-inspired textiles, has garnered acclaim and her brand has gained global recognition as a genderless brand.

Debuting collections at PFW in February 2020 in a simultaneous format of collective shows, relocating the base from New York to Tokyo in September 2020, and presenting the first official runway show at Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO in March 2021. In August 2022, Mikage received notable awards at Unicorn Fashion Award XR show in Milano, followed by the Best Debutant Award from THE MEN'S FASHION UNITY in November 2022. The brand continued its success by opening its first flagship store, MIKAGE SHIN AOYAMA, in Tokyo's Omotesando in September 2023.
