“by R” Project for 2025 A/W Wednesday, March 19th 19:00~

The “by R” project is an initiative to empower the Japanese fashion scene by placing the spotlight on select, unique brands loved by a broad range of fans both in Japan and globally. As the title sponsor of Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO, we will support the Runway Shows of talented brands and expand their opportunities to take on new challenges for further success in Japan and abroad with Rakuten Group’s diverse assets.

Following its first runway show last season, TELMA, the grand prix winner of the JFW NEXT BRAND AWARD 2025, a brand support program organized by the JFWO, will present runway show for the 25 /W season.

Many brands that have won awards and gained attention through the “by R” project as well as taken part in the Tokyo Fashion Weeks of recent years will be participating in this season’s event again. Tae Ashida: Received the special commendation from the Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2024

TAEASHIDA

“TAE ASHIDA” founded by designer Tae Ashida, was the winner of last year’s special commendation from the Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. The award is given to those who have contributed to the promotion of national culture through outstanding achievements in cultural activities and to the overseas dissemination of Japanese culture and international cultural exchange.


Harunobu Murata: Newcomer’s Prize at the 42nd Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix in 2024


HARUNOMUMURATA

“HARUNOBUMURATA” by designer Harunobu Murata was the winner of last year’s Newcomer’s Prize. Established in 1982, the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix’s Newcomer’s Prize is an award given to the most outstanding creative work of the year. This year, he will participate in the event once again (Also introduced as a TFA award-winning brand on the previous page).

HYKE: First physical show in 5 years
HYKE, by Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode will present a runway show with an audience for this 2025 A/W season, the first time in five years since 2020 S/S.

HIDESIGN, which presented at PITTI IMAGINE UOMO, returned with a noteworthy installation
HIDESIGN, a brand that has been garnering attention as their “ALL ZONE” capsule collection, which was presented at the 107th PITTI IMAGINE UOMO in January of this year, will be re-presented in a wearable version at Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO. 

HUMMEL 00 (HUMMEL OH): First participation with Masanori Morikawa appointed as designer
HUMMEL 00, a fashion line launched in the 25SS season by DENMARK sports brand HUMMEL celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023. This year, the brand will participate in Rakuten fashion Week TOKYO for the first time in its second season with Masanori Morikawa as appointed the designer.
