The Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix was established in 1982 to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Mainichi Shimbun, and is now in its 43rd year. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding achievements and creative activities in the fashion industry and to promote the development and vitalization of culture and industry.
