Brand information / About the designer
―What inspired you to become a fashion designer? Describe developments leading up to the brand launch.
One of my main interests is physical expression under the influence of “dumbtype”.
I had the chance to admire how all beauty’s representations have the power to chance people’s consciousness and even more in fashion, where clothes are an abstract presence between a human body and products. I got to the point where I really enjoy hand-making things and, after having worked into the advertising industry, 1 year ago I decided to launch my brand. I really wanted to pursue my belief entering the fashion world.
―What is the brand’s concept? What do you want to communicate through fashion designing?
My final aim is, through my collection, being able to communicate a new purpose and a totally new perspective on the fashion scene.
―What is your source of inspiration in creating fashion? What is your process of developing a design concept?
I get my inspiration from every day’s life: the perfect mix between excitement and discovery.
―Who are your current stockists (areas, retail formats, etc.)? Describe the typical followers of your brand.
The brand is currently engaging in different sales promotions: pop-up shops in the main department stores, local shops and fashion exhibitions.
About 2016 S/S collection
―Why have you chosen Tokyo (or MBFWT) as the venue for presenting your collection?
I wanted to show to people my creations and see their reactions directly.
Future
―What are your brand’s future outlook and goal?
I would like to establish my brand in the fashion world and get people to know it.
About TOKYO
―What does Tokyo represent for you?
I think Tokyo represents all the best and the worst a city can give.
―Which parts / sites of Tokyo do you like most? Why?
Kichijōji, one of Tokyo’s districts. I lived there for 10 years. There’s a wonderful fusion between nature and culture.
―What are your favorite / recommended shops (of any genres, e.g. fashion stores, homeware stores, food services), facilities and sites?
Here are two of my favorite places: Yomiya-ya (a second hand bookstore) and Dans Dix Ans, a very nice bakery in Kichijōji.
