Winner of DHL Exported Program, Anne Sofie Madsen, successfully unveiled collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO

Anne Sofie Madsen is one of the winners of the DHL Exported program, Cycle 2, which combines the global marketing platform of the most impactful fashion week events with DHL’s logistic capabilities. DHL and IMG support promising designers’ overseas expansion.

The winners have the opportunity to debut their collections on-schedule for two consecutive seasons at Fashion Week in one of the following markets of their choice: New York, London, Milan or Tokyo. Through the program, DHL provides expert advice on growing business internationally and shipping of the finished garments to the runway show.

Anne Sofie Madsen, who has just completed her debut appearance in Tokyo, commented about her future aspirations and thoughts regarding her collection, with excitement still running high after the show.

“It’s been a long time goal of mine to show my collection in Tokyo, and am thrilled to have been able to reach that goal via DHL Exported. Japan has been a source of great inspiration throughout my career; being able to show in Tokyo is really a dream come true, but now I look forward to taking the important next steps towards establishing my brand here.”

The feature of her collection is dichotomies — the futuristic and historical, masculine and feminine, and the exotic and classic pursuing an exclusive look at her austere, yet refined line. Her latest A/W 2016 collection in Tokyo was inspired by her long-time admiration for Japan.

In addition to Anne Sofie Madsen’s debut collection in Tokyo, Atsushi Nakashima, who is the first Japanese designer to have won the DHL Exported program, successfully made his first appearance at Milan Fashion Week this season.
