“yoshiokubo” and Pokémon partner to participate in the 92nd edition of PITTI UOMO!

Pokémon started as a video game series, and encompasses a wide range of content, including trading card games, animated series, movies, and merchandise. The release of the app "Pokémon GO" created a worldwide craze. It has brought in new fans, gaining support from people of all generations.

Visual design studio with base in Tokyo, Sendai, and London, Wow develops a wide range of design works spanning diverse media and categories and involving innovative technologies. In the last years WOW has created original artworks and realized large number of installations which have been exhibited both in Japan and overseas.

After participating in the “Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO”, the Tokyo based fashion designer “yoshiokubo” will take part in the 92nd edition of “PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO (hereafter “Pitti Uomo”) – which runs, this season, from 13th to 16th June. The men’s fashion tradeshow Pitti Uomo is held twice a year in Florence, Italy, in January and in June.

“yoshiokubo” has chosen the Stazione Leopolda to present his Spring / Summer 18 collection and will liven up the runway in partnership with the world famous Pokémon brand. Through an original multimedia installation, the renowned media Japanese company, will bring fresh creative support to the project, which represents the first chapter of its collaboration with the Japan Fashion Week Organization.

About the Pokémon Installation

For the event, Pokémon has developed a first ever, original installation, incorporating its advanced technology and entertainment power with the sophisticated images of yoshiokubo.
The installation was designed, directed, and produced by visual design studio WOW inc.

The “yoshiokubo Show Time” Show will be held at 12:00 on Thursday, June 15th, 2017

About Yoshio Kubo

Yoshio Kubo graduated from the Philadelphia University School of Textile and Science, and worked as an assistant designer under New York haute couture designer Robert Danes. In 2004. he returned to Japan to launch his own brand and In September of the same year, he presented “yoshiokubo Spring / Summer 2005 collection”. In 2008, he debuted with his “yoshiokubo Spring / Summer 2009 collection” on the runway of Tokyo collection
