RakutenFWT 2025 S/S | Day 4 Report
Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO (Rakuten FWT) 2025 S/S (Organized by Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFWO)) welcomed the fourth day of the event. In addition to reporting highlights, this report will also cover two brands that showed the previous day.
yoshiokubo (20:00~) Lumine the Yoshimoto
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the brand’s establishment, Yoshio Kubo held a runway show in collaboration with Yoshimoto Shinkigeki, a collaboration designer Yoshio Kubo says he had “always wanted to do.” The troupe members, including Tamayo Shimada, Succhi, Ayuki Tsutsui, Yutaka Yoshida, and Kanpei Hazama wowed the audience in the first half with a comedy set taking place at the long-established udon shop “Kagetsu Udon.”
The story follows a show producer (played by Tamayo Shimada) and a regular at an udon shop who was planning a runway for Yoshikubo in the neighborhood, but when their planned venue became unavailable, she decided to hold the runway at the udon shop short notice. After about 20 minutes of laughter, the runway began.
This season followed the theme of “Guard, Break, and Release,” in which the brand reconceived past creations by combining them with new ideas. Creating garments with plenty of gathers were one of the details they wanted to tackle in this series. The actors Succhi and Kanpei Hazama also appeared on the runway as models. In the last act, all the designers and models performed a comedic stunt which they had rehearsed several times unbeknownst to the troupe members, and thus concluded their first ever comedy x runway event. The next 10 years of Yoshiokubo’s legacy of creating “a piece of clothing that will be cherished for a long time and will never be thrown away” is just beginning.
O0u (21:30~) Telecom Center Building
Sustainable brand “O0u” held its first runway show to the theme of “LIVING IN A CIRCULAR WORLD.” The venue was decorated with many circles, a symbol of circulation, the earth, and other “natural forms without corners.” The brand creates fashionable everyday wear using natural materials with low environmental impact and materials made using pesticide-free manufacturing and thorough energy conservation management. O0u also announced a new eyewear collaboration with Zoff, the eyeglass brand sported in the O0u uniforms. ADOORLINK, which manages the O0u brand, received the “B Corp” global certification for socially and environmentally responsible companies with a high level of public interest at the end of last year.
pillings (14:00~) Science Museum
The venue for pillings was an impressive, triangular shaped room in the Science Museum. For this season the artist placed importance on expressing small feelings and modest perspectives that cannot be verbalized. Pulling from the memory of a “window” and the view they could see from it, something the designer had always been somewhat fearful of in childhood.
The elaborate knit items at the heart of the brand, such as tops that gently wrap the upper body like antique lace curtains and sheer cardigans that overlap like impressions of memories had a strong presence this season. New pieces such as dresses made of translucent metallic materials also made an appearance as well.
mintdesigns (15:00~) Online Exhibition

This seasons marks the 10th time for mintdesigns to present its collection through video work. This theme this time was “White Project.” The inspiration came from an assignment of the same name at Central Saint Martins, the designer’s alma mater. The idea was to design a garment using only white, and it is said to have been a catalyst for creativity within the constraints of the project.
Mint Designs recreated their original “White Project” by mixing patterns based on the motif of an eraser: original lace patterns, foil prints, and other elements that evoke the color white.
Keiko Nishiyama (18:00~) Online Exhibition

Keiko Nishiyama, who participated for the first time this season, is a women’s brand whose strength lies in delicate prints inspired by ancient natural history display rooms. This season the brand expressed its unique perspective on the mysteries and riddles of the universe according to the theme of “COSMOGRAPHIA,” concepts that have fascinated people since ancient times.
Intriguing graphics were used on a variety of items, from shirts and pants with loose-fitting pajama-like silhouettes to dramatic skirts with layers of tulle ruffles.
