Brand information / About the designer
―What inspired you to become a fashion designer? Describe developments leading up to the brand launch.
I never wanted to be a designer. I wanted to have my own store. I started it, and it grew as a brand naturally.
―What is the brand’s concept? What do you want to communicate through fashion designing? What are the images of men and women you want to project?
I don’t have anything like message or concept. I would like all the people enjoy wearing my collection.
―What is your source of inspiration in creating fashion? What is your process of developing a design concept?
Everyday life.
―Who are your current stockists (areas, retail formats, etc.)? Describe the typical followers of your brand.
We do not know.
―Which brands, designers, styles and cultures have had the most impact on your fashion designing, and why?
Nothing particular. Probably as a designer, Dieter Rams. I think I’m influenced by any and all things around me, though.
About 2018 A/W collection
―Why have you chosen Tokyo(Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO) as the venue for presenting your collection?
I wanted to see outside world.
―What is the concept / image for your brand’s 2018 A/W season?
Because I suppose there will be many people who see DIGAWEL for the first time this season, I’m trying to show something very ‘DIGAWEL’ as of now.
―What is your vision for your show / installation?
Sorry, no idea yet.
Future
―What are your brand’s future outlook and goal?
Take over the world.
About TOKYO
―What does Tokyo represent for you?
Life. Hub of expression.
―Which parts / sites of Tokyo do you like most? Why?
Inokashira Park Zoo. It is modest and small, and I never had a cooped-up feeling, which I tend to feel in zoo. Loose and relaxed.
―What are your favorite / recommended shops (of any genres, e.g. fashion stores, homeware stores, food services), facilities and sites?
There are many vinyl-focused record shops in Tokyo. All those record shops.
