Brand information / About the designer
―What inspired you to become a fashion designer? Describe developments leading up to the brand launch.
I worked as Bag designer 10 years and I was seeing the declining of Japanese traditional things.
I have been expressed the value and wonderful through bag`s designing but I have thought it would be difficult.
Then I launched my fashion brand [ Keiichirosense ] to share this value of Japanese traditional things ( tequnique, textile and etc ) and to share my style that is [ Stylig from Bags ] .
―What is the brand’s concept? What do you want to communicate through fashion designing?
The brand`s concept is [ Art x Technology x Fashion ] and is expressed Styling from Bags.
Through this styling I will share “ a passion never experience before “. On the designing I image the ladies style but I’m conscious the element of gender lessly.
―What is your source of inspiration in creating fashion? What is your process of developing a design concept?
MUSIC. On the designing and creation I image from the music and I think it influence for pattern, colour and material.
―Who are your current stockists (areas, retail formats, etc.)? Describe the typical followers of your brand.
Mainly our bland’s client is department store. We have many client who would like to have new sense of values.
We have many reply “ I have never seen “ from client. We are very happy to hear this reply.
―Which brands, designers, styles and cultures have had the most impact on your fashion designing, and why?
RYNSHU
He is my master who teach me how do I live by fashion industry.
About 2016 A/W collection
―Why have you chosen Tokyo (or MBFWT) as the venue for presenting your collection?
I think that the most important thing is to be succeeding to Japanese traditional culture and need to share our culture to the world. Then, I’m going to think the first step is Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO and launch first fashion brand [ Keiichirosense ]. I believe that a style of [ traditionla c innovation ] can be share to the world if we can adopt Japanese traditional technology.
―What is the concept / image for your brand’s 2016 A/W season?
[ a passion never experience before ] and the genesis.
Because I’m a bag designer, the styling which can be done is imagined and essence as innovation is added to a traditional technique, and I’m thinking when you feel [the future].
―What is your vision for your show / installation?
Because the concept is [ a passion never experience before ] so I’ll express something which can’t be expressed in a word. It`s placed [ a passion never experience before – the genesis ] by the first participation and we will express our style [ Keiichirosense ] in the show. It may see the confusion but everything starts from here.
Future
―What are your brand’s future outlook and goal?
I’d like to make the future of [Made in Japan] the brand which can be felt through a collection and a show.
About TOKYO
―What does Tokyo represent for you?
Tokyo Tower. When saying a symbol in Tokyo, it’s Tokyo Tower as expected. When a tower was made, many people think they had a dream, and it shone. I think TOKYO is the town where I have a dream as expected.
―Which parts / sites of Tokyo do you like most? Why?
Azabujuban. It’s a favorite place so that the press room now was opened there. Near Tokyo Tower! It’s a joke to say so, but THE TOKYO-like feeling that old streets and modern streets are complicated is here.
―What are your favorite / recommended shops (of any genres, e.g. fashion stores, homeware stores, food services), facilities and sites?
Roppongi Hills, Omotesando and Miyuki street.
