Brand information / About the designer

―What inspired you to become a fashion designer? Describe developments leading up to the brand launch.

To learn fashion, I moved to Tokyo when I was 19.
I launched own brand in earnest in 2016 via a student. It’ll be 3rd season for us in 18SS. I was interested in a textile and considered getting a job at first, but an internship and training led me to try my collection.
 

―What is the brand’s concept? What do you want to communicate through fashion designing? What are the images of men and women you want to project?

Each outfit is being made with a draping basically. I think it is characteristic to be emphasized shape.
 

―What is your source of inspiration in creating fashion? What is your process of developing a design concept?

When it comes to research, I think it is better to see or touch something in person than the internet. While thinking the role of the mode made in Japan and how that can connect with society, I work on my collection.
 

―Who are your current stockists (areas, retail formats, etc.)? Describe the typical followers of your brand.

It is an impression that there are many customers who have unique personallity. It is unexpected that men may purchase it despite for women’s wear is deployed.
 

―Which brands, designers, styles and cultures have had the most impact on your fashion designing, and why?

I think that the influence from street fashion is great. As I was raised in the country, I remember that I went to a select shop in Sendai with a friend for an hour and a half by train in high school days.

About 2018 S/S collection

―Why have you chosen Tokyo(Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO) as the venue for presenting your collection?

It is to improve brand awareness and sales.
 

―What is the concept / image for your brand’s 2018 S/S season?

I was attracted by an image that skin sensation is possessed by the room where I live. This time I’m making collection while looking for the relationship between clothes and emvironment with sensation. Each look is going to be took shape into account.
 

―What is your vision for your show / installation?

I think that it will be an old fashion show.

Future

―What are your brand’s future outlook and goal?

Regardless of the field, I think that we can actively engage with various people. As well as clothes, the goal is to raise the quality of other things such as how to show others.

―What does Tokyo represent for you?

I think that it looks different depending on the area.
 

―Which parts / sites of Tokyo do you like most? Why?

I like Shinjuku as a place I spent my school days.
 

―What are your favorite / recommended shops (of any genres, e.g. fashion stores, homeware stores, food services), facilities and sites?

The Japan Folk Craft Museum (Meguro-ku)
