RakutenFWT 2024 A/W | Day 6 Report

“Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO (Rakuten FWT) 2024 A/W” (governing body: the Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFWO)),
welcomed its last day.

Gracing the final runway stage of the previous day was “Marimekko” (19:00~)

Marimekko” presented the last runway show of last night, participating in RFWT for the first time through “by R”, a project to empower the Japanese fashion scene.
In the 24 AW collection of this brand welcoming its 60 anniversary this year, there iconic “Unikko” flower design appeared in a variety of patterns, such as being pasted on three-dimensionally, enlarged or shrunk into small flowers, etc. In addition, the brand’s very first denim line, “Maridenim” was introduced.

HAENGNAE” (12:00~)

Today (March 16 ) being the last day of the term, “HAENGNAE”, the award-winning brand of TOKYO FASHION AWARD 2024 andJFW NEXT BRAND AWARD 2023 Special Recognition Award, presented a triumphant return event at the Official venue of Shibuya Hikarie, Hikarie Hall A. This being their very first time to participate in Rakuten FWT and their very first runway show, the brand presented a collection centering around the 3 brand colors of Black, Beige, Red, under the theme of “Loving Philosophy”. In presenting their very first show, they reflected upon past collections to express the variety of aspects and/or thoughts that the brand holds dear.

Continuing on once again from last season, the Global Fashion Collective of Canada is participating in Rakuten FWT. In Part 1, Miss Alphabet / Dr.Maaya / MAISON de R, and in Part 2, SISIO / Adama Paris / UNSERTEN, each presented a show. 5 individual brands, each with their own individuality and uniqueness, presented their collections at the Official venue of Shibuya Hikarie, Hikarie Hall A.

TOKYO AI Fashion Week – 2024 A/W Seminar, “Generative AI and Future of Fashion #3

At the venue of this related event, “TOKYO AI Fashion Week – 2024 A/W Exhibition”, who carried out a press event yesterday, the seminar, “Generative AI and Future of Fashion #3” was held. One year has passed away swiftly since the appearance of generative AI products in the market, beginning with Chat GPT. What kind of impact will generative AI, said to be the most innovative technology since the industrial revolution, have on the fashion industry, and how will it transform the future. JFWO Secretary-general, Komoda, participated in part 2 of the event to speak on subjects such as the background behind how AI came to be incorporated in the 24 AW Rakuten key visual, its production process, its issues, etc., and a discussion on what the fashion industry expects of AI in the future was carried out.

The last online presentation of this term was given by “DRESSEDUNDRESSED”.
Under the theme of “Remember the quiet nights”, tailored stylings utilizing wool-gaberdine, cotton moleskin, etc., were presented in a movie with an impressive white space.


The last presentation for this season held at either of the Official venues was TOKYO FASHION AWARD 2024 award-winning brand, “SOSHIOTSUKI”. Under the theme of “Good memory”, their triumphant return event was held at the Official venue of Shibuya Hikarie, Hikarie Hall A.
