Brand information / About the designer
―What inspired you to become a fashion designer? Describe developments leading up to the brand launch.
I gave myself up to basketball whole my school years from elementary school until I graduated from high school. After I quited playing basketball, I watched a TV program named “Fashion Tsu-shin” and it made me interested in the fashion industory. Since then, I have been involved in a lot of fashion works, but my simple motivation is that I like to give the customers what I like and make them happy and enjoy it.
―What is the brand’s concept? What do you want to communicate through fashion designing?
My designs are always based on what I learned from the past, and I modernize the forms and textures to fit the present-day life naturally. As I have been influenced by the past, I would be happy if someone see INSCRIRE, feel something, and be influenced for his/her future.
―What is your source of inspiration in creating fashion? What is your process of developing a design concept?
I’m inspired by visiting vintage shops and book stores, watching movies, weather, people on the street and what I want now.
But the finding the fabrics I like blows up my collection images the most.
―Who are your current stockists (areas, retail formats, etc.)? Describe the typical followers of your brand.
People who love fashion. They add and mix INSCRIRE clothes to what they already have and enjoy their own styles. I try to propose the clothes that can be worn for a long time in all seasons, so I am very happy to see people wearing INSCRIRE for many years.
―Which brands, designers, styles and cultures have had the most impact on your fashion designing, and why?
I was impacted by the American casual. For me, one of the most representative brand was RALPH LAUREN. I longed for it because It has been recognized as standard and be loved by people of all ages.

I am applying because I want more people to know about INSCRIRE both in Japan and overseas.
―What is the concept / image for your brand’s 2023 A/W season?
The theme is “TRANSFORM”.
I would like to propose the layered styles that change the images by adding INSCRIRE to the items you already have in your closet.
―What is your vision for your show / installation?
I just want to show the clothes simply.
The show should be realistic to make people feel close and familiar.
―What are your brand’s future outlook and goal?
The goal is to have my own retail store where people can feel and experience the world of INSCRIRE.
―What does Tokyo represent for you?
It is a city full of energy.
―Which parts / sites of Tokyo do you like most? Why?
Around Aoyama and Ginza. The main street is lively with lots of people, buildings and shops, but if you go off the main street, there are less. You can enjoy strolling and shopping leisurely around.
―What are your favorite / recommended shops (of any genres, e.g. fashion stores, homeware stores, food services), facilities and sites?
A coffee shop right next to Aoyama Gakuin University named “Tsuta Coffee”. I often go there for a break during work. Drinking delicious coffee in the space surronded by greenery always makes me relaxed.
About efforts for SDGs
―Please tell us about your brand and personal efforts and challenges regarding SDGs.
Honestly, I think it is very difficult to make all clothes sustainable. I believe that reducing the incineration of garbages is what I can do now.
It is my responsibility as a creater to think about whether the materials and designs I am producing can be used for a long time. I would like to make things that can last long as vintage decades ahead so the people who wear them will use them carefully. Also, I would like to challenge working on “”RE-WORK COLLCTION”” which is remaking and transforming outdated clothes and fabrics into modern ones. Instead of just throwing away, I would like to breathe new life into and reive them.
