“Asian Fashion Meets TOKYO” is part of a “technological cooperation training type/emerging market development program (to improve institutional/business environments)” (Main body of operations: The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships) carried out in cooperation between the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Cool Japan Division and Technical/Training Cooperation Division, to invite and train young, up-and-coming designers from all around Asia, and support them in making a collection announcement at Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO, as a presentation of their results. This term, a brand from the Philippines has participated. In this show, a few models selected in the “Debutant Model Project”, a scouting project to dig-up next generation Japanese models, made an appearance.

“Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO” became an object to interview, in an effort by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in cooperation with Kyodo Tsushinsha, to support activities of mainly local junior high and high school students to interview festival with cultural/historical themes, programs/events, cultural assets of the community, starting with Cultural Programs carried out by local governments, Official Organizations towards the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics / Paralympics. After receiving prior explanation, junior high and high school students interested in fashion went around interviewing the latest collections together with other medias.
